The BBB: Black Bean Burger

If you’re looking for a meatless alternative to a barbecue favorite, you’re going to want to try the BBB. Simple but so so yummy!

The Black Bean Burger


2 15 oz cans black beans
1 cup ground oats
1 egg
2 cloves garlic
1/2 green pepper
1/2 red onion
2 TBSP ground cumin
1 TBSP chili powder
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp black pepper


Take the garlic, red onion, and green pepper and pulse until finely chopped. Drain water with a cheese cloth or paper towel. Rinse and drain the black beans. Mash them up with a fork or potato masher. Pat down the excess moisture. Add the beans to the chopped vegetables. Mix in the breadcrumbs and spices. Once completely combined take out a portion and sculpt into burgers. Place on a grill grate or aluminum foil and grill. Flip after about 6-7 minutes. Enjoy!
